At Ping Pong Gallery - David Johnson: Cubes and Tubes. I walked into the gallery last night to find a young toddler sitting on the floor in front of the piece pictured at right, holding up his hands to create shadows that danced with the light. Johnson's neon, whether encased in cardboard or concrete, reminds me of Dan Flavin with a distinctly Mission edge. Very cool stuff.
from Modern Times Books:
"Edited by Eric Zassenhaus and Gravity Goldberg, Instant City is a literary exploration of San Francisco that aspires to chart a psychogeographic map of ever-changing San Francisco through fiction, nonfiction and visual artwork."
Ecstatic Monkey Literary Promotions hosted a reading at Modern Times last night to celebrate the publication of Instant City #3 featuring authors Joe Donahoe, Raina Bird, and b. Armstrong. All of the readings were great, but I have to say Ms Bird pretty much stole the show with her account of her first and only San Francisco rave experience.

Wilson Speaks:
"The president really should stand up and prove to the American people that his word is his bond and fire Karl Rove."
On NBC's "Today" show, Joe Wilson called for the president to fire the man he believes is responsible for the outing of his wife, CIA operative Valerie Plame Wilson.
