A couple more of the CFDA / Vogue finalists...There's a nice spread on all of the nominees in the Cate Blanchett Vogue out this month as well:
Brits David Neville and Marcus Wainwright have been nominated for their line Rag & Bone. I have zero interest in the whole designer jeans craze, so I hadn't really paid them any mind, despite their commitment to old-school production and construction. But then I saw the Gatsby-esque look above from their Spring 2007 collection, and suddenly they have my attention. On their trip to the American south to set up production facilities...Neville: "We got a lot of attention in Wal-Mart." Wainwright: "We had moonshine for the first time. I now have a small collection of moonshine from various Southern places."

And oh my god Rodarte. Kate and Laura Mulleavy are two sisters from Pasadena who count the Huntington gardens and sculpture by Brancusi among their inspirations. Who would they dress that they haven't yet? "Joan Didion and Maggie Cheung." If I hadn't already been in love, I sure am now.
