Casino Royale has absolutely everything necessary for a satisfying Bond flick: wit, glamour, exotic locales, fast cars, plenty of cheese, and giant gaping plot holes. But really it all comes down to Daniel Craig sitting at a table eating dinner with his dress shirt unbuttoned.

Got Layer Cake on my Netflix list. Soon to add: Sylvia, The Mother, and Enduring Love.

i haven't seen any of those! i hang my head in shame. i will say that he was one of the things i actually liked about spielberg's munich. and i'm dying to see him as heisenberg in the TV version of copenhagen.

Uh oh, we meant to warn you before you saw it about the scene in the beginning with the mongoose and the s----.

i just covered my eyes and aimee told me when it was over! and next time i'm in madagascar if i get invited to a "cockfight" i'll make sure i decline politely.

The Mother is a very unique and intense british film. Written by Hanif Kureishi (Buddha of Suburbia, Intimacy, My Beautiful Laundrette), it covers a topic that may not be palatable to most people: the unusual sexuality of a widowed grandmother. I actually found it to be very interesting, and it was made even more so by the frequent appearance of Mr. Craig doing some rather naughty things, with gusto. Pretty fucking hot and kind of ooky at the same time.

Enduring Love was pretty good as well, and has the added benefit of having a plot that is easy to identify with: it is mainly about a man who is obsessed with Daniel Craig. And who wouldn't be?

Sylvia is also pretty good, but just doesn't have quite enough Craig screentime for my tastes.

I may need to see Casino Royale again too.
