steven kolb: executive director of the cfda
"I've only been to the event twice. The first time was back as a volunteer helper in 1992, when Audrey Hepburn gave Ralph Lauren his Lifetime Achievement Award. I have to say it was pretty exciting at the time to be an arm's length from Audrey. Breakfast at Tiffany's is my all-time favorite movie. I remember how beautiful and graceful she was walking down the halls of Lincoln Center. The second time I went was last year as the executive director of the CFDA. That too was pretty amazing, because I realized I had come a long way in 14 years to be one of the people responsible for the event."
