When Luke was little, we used to sing a little ditty with those words to make him giggle.
I was reminded of that song today when I read this.
While I think it's a terribly silly name, I think it is wrong that a girl named Talula Does the Hula from Hawaii was removed from custody from her parents because they would not change her name. While the judge argues he is tired of parents choosing silly names for their children, there is no reason that a child should be removed from her family. The article states that the 9yo girl does not like her name and refers to herself as K. That's fine. Some kids don't like their names. Let her change her name when she gets older.
Both my kids have pretty normal names- Lydia and Luke. As a teacher, I wanted something different but not strange. Having a very common name for my generation (Melissa) I didn't want my children to be one of six with the same name in a grade level. But it is a parent's right to name a child and this judge has overstepped boundaries.
What say you?
I think I might consign my skinnies & straight-leg jeans to the back of the wardrobe for a while, while I continue to re-discover my love affair with wide-leg & flared jeans. Why, oh why did I stop wearing them?! But it's not like I'm going to stop wearing skinnies ever, but methinks it's time to give my legs some breathing space. : ) Plus, with my jeans at midrise (I don't think I'll be wearing high-waisted jeans ever!), I can wear waist-length tops without worrying about flashing too much!
p.s.: Sportsgirl's sales are love. <3
Hub and I used to watch the original version for years. I even bought him the Iron Chef Book for Christmas a few years back. I just found this fun game to play. Maybe I'll rpint out the cards and find a rerun.
PS- The original IC was so much better than that one that's on now. I loved the dubbing and the giggling actresses. I tried to find a clip for you and while people mention tghe giggling actresses- no one seems have video of them. Sorry.

No, not the hit series. Some fat.
Lost 2.8 lbs last week, 4.2 total in 2 weeks. Wheee! I may hit my goal of 10 lbs gone by 8/23, the day we leave for Burning Man. Most of all, I'll be a lot stronger from getting way more exercise than I have done for a year.
I gotta say, I love Weight Watchers, and I especially love our fearless leader, Jen. She is funky, funny, smart, and inspiring. Oh, and I love 2-Point Bars.
I love DVB for being so supportive and helping me eat good foods in right amounts. Slender rod that he is, he is trying to lose 5 lbs to see what it feels like to eat thoughtfully. So far, I'm doing better than him. ;-)
Based on some of the recent explorations in our practice we designed this semesters task for the Students of the Dessau Institute of Architecture, Bauhaus Dessau: to scrutinize floral entities an their underlying geometric logic to create spatial conditions:
but why is every contractor/painter/etc... so fucking lame.
i try to even pick good ones that have amazing reviews,
but I would be embarrassed to put my name on the work they do.
